Sorry I took a week off. Between travel, filling myself with food, and filling Naughton up with dicks and jizz, it was a full week. That’s right, I’m the top dog. I’m #1 in the league. I’ve knocked off the 2 #1 teams in the power rankings the past 2 weeks and now I’ve assumed my position at the top of the league. As your weekly ruler, I have a few proclamations for the land.
- Why is everyone arguing about the keeper league?
This is so dumb. I have the solution to keepers and it is as follows.
- You may keep any player on your roster at the end of the season
- If you drafted the player, you take him one round before the round you drafted him in the previous year (Jake took Mahomes in round 17, Mahomes is inserted into the 16th round for the 2019 draft)
- Any player that is drafted, you may keep on your roster for a maximum of 3 years
- If you acquired a player in the 2018 season, you may keep the player at the same round of their 2019 ADP (average draft position) in a .5 PPR league as deemed by FantasyPros (a website that takes data from 20+ fantasy websites and combines it into an average ranking). The ADP must be approved by 6 or more members of the league.
- Any player that was acquired, you may only keep on your roster for 1 year.
Ok, now Ross can calm his tits. This way, you’re still encouraged to roll the dice and hang onto rookies and other draft picks. You can be keep a player you traded for mid season for 1 year if you really want to. The ADP makes it fair, there’s also a league vote. This is my solution FOR 2020. We are not changing the rules this year after we already all agreed to them.
2. Take my solution for announcing keepers.
This is what I laid out in our legendary podcast which contains half the damn league (love you all, we need to narrow that shit up (also Josh 100% stays as it was his idea and he’s a good host)). Here’s my solution:
- It’s an unwritten Sacko punishment
- Everyone submits their keeper to the Sacko 1 week before the draft
- You cannot change your keeper unless there’s any sort of injury (from turf toe to an ACL)
- This way, it’s even for everyone, we all see it at the same time, and you can’t strategize around what everyone else is keeping. You take your best option or are forced to guess
- This rewards someone a bit more for winning the random draft order, and keeps it even for everyone.
- The Sacko submits his keeper to the Commissioner first, that way he can’t change. We are just making him do it because fuck him for losing the league. This doesn’t count as a Sacko punishment, it’s just more bitch work.
I think announcing with your draft pick in order punishes you for winning whatever dumb ass contest we put together. This is the most even and unbiased approach I can think of. Use my rationality. Vote for me to make this League great again.
Predictions will come after tonight’s video as it’s funny and I don’t want to spoil some of the jokes I have prepared early.
